October 15: 2nd Annual TKE Alumni Top Golf Tournament
Let me be the first to invite you to the 2nd Annual TKE Mu-Omega Alumni Association Top Golf Tournament!
Location: Top Golf in Alexandria. 6625 S Van Dorn Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22315
Date: Oct 15th, 2013 beginning at 7:30pm
Cost: No charge to enter the tournament, but you will be responsible for the cost of your golfing (3 rounds worth, roughly $20) and any food or drink you would like.
Players: Friends and Family are encouraged to attend and play, but only actively supporting Alumni will be eligible to win the tournament.
Additionally: Food and beverage service is available so plan to take full advantage of the bar and restaurant.
Tournament Format:
Round 1: Top Golf – Points for accuracy, with eligible bonus balls.
Round 2: Top Chip – Variable goal targeting, with penalties for wrong goals.
Round 3: Top Shot – Consecutive goal targeting, with penalties for wrong goals.
At the completion of the 3 Rounds all score will be tallied and a winner will be declared and receive a Tournament Trophy and Bragging Rights for the Year.

Alumni Fraters,
It is my pleasure to update you the current progress the chapter is making during this rush season. As you may or may not know, IFC has changed the bidding process of fraternities and we are now allowed to bid new members through the entire rush period. I am very proud to say that Mu Omega has been taking full advantage of this opportunity and we have just recently given out 32 bids with plans to hand out at least another 10-15 by the end of rush to deserving new members. We have a very good chance of having a Fall pledge class above the 30 man mark.
On Sunday, September 8th, the chapter contacted every potential and asked them to meet in President’s Park at exactly 11:37pm. While all the freshman were standing in the park alone, at that exact minute, we had the ENTIRE CHAPTER including some alumni, walk over to the park in all formal wear. There, we personally handed out official bids to each potential. As they recived their bids one by one, many students stopped to watch and even came out of their dorms to witness what was happening. In my opinion, it was one of the most spetacular moments of brotherhood and chapter unity I have ever seen from Mu Omega in my three years as an active. Hopefully this will get you excited for what we have planned for this fall semester.
Having a pledge class of over 30 men is just the tip of the iceberg as far as goals we will reach this school year. New members are allowed to accept their bids on Wednesday, September 18th, so I hope to see you all at the Alumni Annual Business meeting on Thursday September 19th (7pm at Brion’s) so that I can share with you the final results of all our hard work in person. Thank you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to future collaborations between alumni and the active chapter. The amount of help and support we have received already has the entire chapter thanking you all greatly.

The basketball season is in full swing, so as usual we will be looking after our valued alumni members and will be offering half-price tickets for members and their guests to this year’s homecoming game! The potential for group ticket offerings to select regular season games may also come up so check back to our website for updates to come.

There will be mini-games for the kids, so bring the family! Afterwards there is a TKE thanksgiving at the house and all are welcome to come. |
Fraternity For Life Ritual – Sept 25th
The TKE Mu Omega Alumni Association will be holding a Fraternity For Life Ritual Meeting at the GMU Campus on Sunday Sept 25th at 6pm. If you are a qualifying Alumnus of the Mu Omega chapter or other TKE Chapter, we welcome you to join and be inducted into this final phase of our Brotherhood.
